N Bernard St

Logan Square

This trick-or-treating hot spot has been a popular candy-grabbing destination since the 80’s and includes elaborate lawn displays and a plethora of fun-size and midsize candy bars, including a stash of special candy just for resident kids. Expect a packed street and a long line up to each door!

N Freemont Street

Between Armitage & Willow

This neighborhood is closed to traffic during trick-or-treating and has some of the best haunting decor. Expect a crowd when you arrive, but for the parents who are brave enough to weather this busy holiday with their little ones, some houses even hand out conciliatory wine.

Burling St

Lincoln Park

This well-known and wealthy neighborhood goes all out for the holiday. The block is closed to traffic during this time so that kids and strollers are safe to roam around, and both sides of the street deliver quality candy as well as non-edible goodies for kids who have food allergies.

W Goethe St

Gold Coast

These professionally decorated mansions give off impressive spooky vibes. According to Chicago magazine, residents hand out huge candy bars— and for the kids who may be allergic, adorable stuffed animals are also handed out. Beware of the witch stirring the huge cauldron, who, according to legend, might just try to throw you in!

E Walnut St

Hinsdale

Featuring lit up inflatable monsters, skeletons, and other characters, this block of eerily-decorated houses is perfect for families with small children.
