This year they have highlighted the success of Deena Schencker, who excels in her role as a managing broker, recruiter, and mentor for up-and-coming agents, all while managing multimillion-dollar listings and commanding a global network through Sotheby's International Realty.
Deena Schencker spent 25 years in sales, marketing, consulting and executive management; she’s lived and worked on three continents and in eight U.S. cities. So “I have a keen understanding of the intricacies and demands of running a global business,” she says. She puts her skills to work as not just a real-estate broker in Chicago but a member of Sotheby’s International Realty’s intimate executive team and the managing broker of the firm’s Hinsdale office. And she’s constantly paying it forward.
“My network through Sotheby’s is worldwide, and I like to encourage and motivate others to achieve their potential,” Schencker says. In her executive role she does just that: She recruits, coaches, trains and mentors up-and-coming agents. “I will continue to expand my coaching practice and help others new to the business.” She finds this particularly crucial for women—and there are 30 females in her real estate office. A major tenet Schencker lives by, “Elevate, support and recommend your fellow rockstar women business owners. Stars shine brighter in a constellation.”
Whether she’s coaching agents or tending to her own multimillion-dollar listings, “real estate is a very emotional business,” Schencker says. “I am inspired by the stories of others, their successes, and the impact I have had to change their lives personally and professionally. I strive to be a better version of myself each day, and I am a lifelong student who is eager to help others become their best.”
